Psychotherapy Services

Wise Counsel Therapy and Consulting offers therapy to adults, starting at age 18.  In-person therapy is offered in a warm, inviting office setting in Westlake, Ohio. Therapy is also available anywhere in the state of Ohio via telehealth using the secure, HIPAA-compliant Simple Practice platform.

A Note on Neurodiversity

As a neurodiverse person, and a parent of neurodiverse children, I especially enjoy working with clients who are neurodivergent or even suspect they are.  I am an Autism Spectrum Disorder Certified Clinical Specialist. I believe that neurodiversity should be celebrated and enjoy tailoring the therapy experience to be accessible for all minds.  That said, being neurodiverse is not without its challenges, and I love to problem-solve ways to address these challenges while still honoring a person’s neurodiversity.

A Note on Privilege and Cultural Competency

As a white, cisgender, heterosexual, middle income female, I am continually aware of the many privileges assigned to my identities.  I strive to engage in ongoing introspection and education to increase my cultural competence.  Above all, I view clients as the experts on their own experience with privilege, discrimination, and trauma that they have experienced as a result of their identities. My goal is to join with you in making meaning out of your unique experience with identity.  I support racial justice, the LGBTQ+ community, indigenous justice, reproductive rights, and the decriminalization of sex work.

Good Faith Estimate:

If you don’t have health insurance or you plan to pay for health care bills yourself, generally, health
care providers and facilities must give you an estimate of expected charges when you schedule an
appointment for a health care item or service, or if you ask for an estimate. This is called a “good faith
estimate.” Wise Counsel Therapy and Consulting LLC will provide an annual good faith estimate to any client planning to pay for therapy without the use of insurance.
